The Sunny Side

Depending on which side of the ferry I stood, I would get entirely different light effects. This photo shows the colours that were surrounding me, as opposed to the more monochrome view in the previous photo.

Light, wind and therefore temperature were all relative to which side of the boat one was on. The warmer side faced the sun, leading to the monochrome look, the cooler side had the sun behind. The wind depended on which way the ferry was pointing and its speed.
