Kelp

The Kelp that our seal friend was basking in was of the 'octopus' variety. The other sort that can be clearly seen is much more imposing, in that one can imagine it reaching down into the depths (which it indeed does, for the shore drops steeply away around this rocky coast).

The kelp makes strange motions and sounds as it is drawn under by the waves and tide. Could watch it for hours...
